Custom Business Signs Give Your Business a Visual Identity
Posted on 20. Apr, 2010 by signarama.
We live in a highly competitive age. With the economy drooping like eyelids on New Year’s day, people are scrambling to find employment and do business wherever they can. One industry that is doing well is the advertising industry – people are investing what money they have in getting themselves noticed in this day of uncertainty. A smart way of using your advertising budget is by creating an original, eye grabbing custom business sign. Custom business signs can actually make a brand of your business by giving it visual markers that people will remember. With the right use of graphics, typeface, and colors, you can create an image for your business that will infiltrate people’s memories and make your business the first one they think of when they need your service.
Unfortunately, there is a lot of competition out there. And since everyone is using their budgets on advertising for the same reasons, a lot of professionals are also designing amazing custom business signs. But that’s okay! Your business sign’s goal is to get people to notice and remember you. Once they’re in the door, your outstanding service will bring them back!

Yes, Your Custom Business Sign Can Stand Out Amidst the Competition
Take one industry that’s not doing as well as advertising right now – real estate. Not only are homes not selling, there are a ton of real estate companies out there. Sign companies do a lot of business with real estate agents, as they need multiple custom signs for their business. We can tell you the custom sign designs for just about every real estate business in the area! And they all are pretty good. Think for yourself – name three real estate companies and visualize their business signs. You probably imagined their signs before you even thought of their names!
Even with the vast number of real estate companies out there, each company has a unique sign that represents their company alone. From bright blue signs with white lettering, to black and gold custom signs, to red, white and blue custom signs, the colors these companies have chosen for their signs definitely stand out. Not only are their colors instantly recognizable, but they have graphics that make them one-of-a-kind as well. Hot air balloons. A giant rock. A letter ‘C’. These have all become iconic images associated with the custom business signs of certain real estate companies.
These tricks of good advertising aren’t limited to the national companies, either. A local real estate company has made its mark with its distinguished custom real estate sign. The sign, featuring an aqua colored graphic of the shape of South Carolina, combined with text in the same color on a white background, has successfully set itself apart from many others in the field. First of all, the state graphic lets clients and potential clients know that the business is local – which is important to a lot of people. Secondly, the aqua color of the imaging invites an association with the water – also relevant, since this company is on the coast.
So even though this company’s business sign isn’t as recognizable nationally as the others may be, it gets a lot of local attention, which is the goal of the business owners. So even if you’re worried that your business sign will get lost among all of the others, if you design a strong sign, it will still get you noticed. And then the hard part of keeping your business is up to you!
Use Your Custom Business Sign in Multiple Places for Multiple Name Recognition
Let’s stay with the example of real estate agents. Are the only custom signs you see belonging to real estate companies the ones in people’s front yards? Speaking for myself, I know that I see real estate signs everywhere – from yard signs to magnetic car signs to business cards and collared shirts, their images are almost impossible to ignore. So once you design your custom business sign, don’t limit its exposure to the buying public! Invest in a full marketing campaign and display your custom business sign wherever you anticipate high traffic, and soon your sign will be as memorable as the local real estate company’s.
Give Your Business a Good Custom Sign, and Give Your Business a Brand
Don’t be dissuaded by the competition. If you believe in your business, the first step is to let others know why you believe in it. And the best way to let them know is by ordering and displaying a truly distinct custom business sign.

Home Decor Wall Signs
Posted on 15. Apr, 2010 by signarama.
More than just signs…a recent magazine article that might get your creative juices flowing.
So, you’ve got a daughter who wants to plaster her walls with Disney Princesses. She’s begging you to paint pictures of Belle and Ariel on her walls and to wallpaper a Princess patterned border around her entire room. But you’ve just painted her bedroom a pretty yellow and can’t bear to cover it with permanent wallpaper or stencilled drawings of
Princesses because you know that a year from now, she’ll want her bedroom to look like Hannah Montana’s.
Forget about heading to a home decor store to solve this decorating dilemma. The solution comes from an unlikely source: a sign shop. Sign A Rama, a full-service sign shop in Moncton that offers everything from outdoor signs and car decals to banners and trade show displays, also specializes in removable interior signs for homes and offices.
At Sign A Rama, customers can design interior and exterior signs that are easily removed without causing any damage to walls. These signs are for any flat surface – windows, doors, walls, vehicles.
“They stick wherever your imagination goes,” says Blake Scott, owner of Sign A Rama. “That means you can put up one group of pictures one month and another the next.” This product, which comes in vinyl, fabric or canvas, doesn’t leave any residue when
removed.
“It looks permanent but when you remove it, it doesn’t leave anything behind. It won’t remove the paint. It doesn’t damage the surface behind it. There’s nothing to clean,” says Scott, who opened Sign A Rama a year and a half ago. “It’s very easy to handle. If you put it up and want to move it, you just peel it off and put it back up again. With most vinyl signs, you can’t do that.”
He says customers are often surprised that such a product exists. More and more corporations are using this product to put their company logos in boardrooms or to adorn a waiting room with a beautiful print that looks painted on the wall but is actually removable. Daycares and churches use this product often because it allows them to decorate around a certain theme for a few months and then easily change it. The removable signs are reasonably priced and come with a one to three year guarantee too.
Customers can even design and order their own signs online, says Scott. Sign A Rama launched its online design and shopping option in December and is the only sign shop in eastern Canada that offers that service.
“You can order your sign online, knowing that you have a local dealer to work with. It’s just so easy,”
Scott says.
Sign A Rama has another product that most people wouldn’t expect to find at a sign shop: printed roller blinds. Customers can print their company logos or promotions on these blinds, which still allow light through but provide shade and privacy as well.
“They are easy to change because they are on roller blinds, and they look really sharp. The blinds are an extremely effective and reasonably priced way to highlight your seasonal promotions,” he says.
Sign A Rama has a retail location at 300 Elmwood Drive in Moncton. Customers can order online at www.signarama-moncton.com.

From yard work and maintenance to home improvements and appliance repair hiring a contractor can be the best way to get a job done correctly. With the busy day to day life that many people lead it is very helpful to be able to hire an individual to do a great job. Yard signs are a good way for contractors to showcase their name within their community during and after the project.

Landscaping companies make their living by cutting yards, planting flowers and making their customer’s yards look beautiful. One of the best ways for them to let potential nearby customers know that they are responsible for the beautiful yard is to use yard signs with their specific company information on it. People like to see examples of contractor’s work, and yard signs make that possible. Many contractors also do professional landscaping for companies and sometimes companies like to use designs that are based on certain themes or other ideas. Building contractors can also use yard signs to showcase the buildings that they have constructed. This is especially true for those who are building special homes or other places where consumers are known to frequent. Some contractors specialize in certain building materials or type of architecture so it is important that they showcase these talents. Many people get ideas by looking at buildings for inspiration so it important for builders to proudly display signs that showcase their great work.
So whether you are a landscaper, sprinkler specialist, plumber, home improvements or other type of service specialist, considering advertising your business by adding an onsite yard lawn during and after your next contract. Vinyl Banners and Sidewalk Signs
Posted on 31. Mar, 2010 by signarama.
You can easily direct traffic to your place of business with large vinyl banners that are customized with your unique message. The reality is that people expect to see signs in front of businesses. We have grown accustomed to signs providing us with information about special offers, fun and important events, and even in guiding us to our destination. It stands to reason that signs get noticed. We depend on them. And custom signs from SIGNARAMA, the leader in the industry, are made with high standards that are sure to please even the most discerning business owner. That’s why millions of signs are sold to be used to direct store traffic and more.
It’s true that a place of business should not be engulfed in signage. After all, if you provide too many signs the consumer becomes overwhelmed and confused. But a well placed sign that conveys usable information is always welcomed by customers. And the fact that signs can be customized to match the needs of a particular business adds a touch of class that customers equate with professionalism. It goes without saying that customers prefer to do business with a company that is professional. Custom signs add to the feelings of trust and regard we have for a business. It may sound silly, but psychologically we associate beautiful banners and well crafted sidewalk signs with a business that is here to stay. And if these signs offer useful information they are even more highly regarded. We instantly appreciate that the business is one that is worthy of our business.
Signs of all types can be purchased in virtually any size needed. However, banners offer great versatility and they are extremely cost effective. The good news is that banners are available in vinyl, flex-face, nylon and poly. Outdoor banners are designed to be weather resistant. They can be created to announce an event, a sale, provide instructions or directions, or to promote a particular item. Vinyl banners and other custom signs help to brand a business. When a business owner uses several signs and sign types, all created with a similar design or color scheme, people come to associate that style and design with that particular business. The point is that sidewalk signs and other signage can all depict an emblem, icon, or slogan, as well as specific colors. This helps to create the sub-conscious association with that feature or theme to the business. In the end, branding helps to promote in a subtle way and one that is effortless.

Social Media Marketing
Posted on 06. Mar, 2010 by signarama.
The “Small Business Success Index”™ (SBSI) conducted by University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business found that social media adoption doubled from 12% to 24% among small businesses in the last year.
The study surveyed 500 small business owners about their social media usage. Of those small businesses, 61% had used social media in the past year to identify and attract new customers.
How are small businesses using social media for marketing?
According to the SBSI study:
* 75% created a company page on Facebook or LinkedIn
* 69% post status updates on Facebook or LinkedIn
* 26% use Twitter to talk about their industry expertise
* 39% have a blog to talk about expertise
What does this mean for small businesses?
Social media marketing is dramatically more inexpensive than traditional marketing tools like advertising and direct mail. Most likely, adoption of online tools will continue to increase as they give small businesses leverage to aggressively compete with large businesses without emptying their wallets.
If you’re still considering whether to jump in or not, no better time to get started than now! It appears that the majority of small businesses are already using social media as part of their marketing mix. Who knows, your competition may already be using social media tools …and if you do have a business Facebook Fan Page, why not put a sign in the window asking people to become a fan? Design your sign online here.
